What a game!.....Not!!!

So, this past Saturday my buddy Chris called me and said he had an extra ticket for game 3 of the ALDS, would I like to go? Well, I had to see if I could get out of my weekly flag football games, but yeah...who would pass up free playoff tickets to the Sox?! So we met outside the park around 11:30 on gameday. We got to our seats in the grandstand right behind home plate, grabbed a couple beers and some grub, and settled in! Buchholz looked pretty good through the first five innings. All was great going into the end of the game. The sox were down 2-0 in the series and held a 6-4 lead going into the ninth. After retiring the last batter in the top of the eight Papelbon was back out there to get the final three outs and push the series to a potential game 4. He got the first 2 outs and had an 0-2 count on Eybar before it all unraveled. Everyone knows what happened next....the Angels went on to score 3 runs to make it a 7-6 Angels lead. The sox still had a chance in the bottom of the 9th, but they were pretty lifeless. Wow do I wish I didn't have to sit there and watch the Angels celebrate there first series win versus the sox in decades! What a bummer!

I love this team...always have, always will, but I am getting so tired of the same thing every year. 1st place at the all star break, 8 games out by seasons end. I want to look out at that standings board in left field and see 100+ wins! Will we ever see this?

Time to say goodbye to Varitek and Bay. Maybe next season we hold off on Wakefield til the second half of the season, and a bit of advice for the sox brass.....don't sign any has beens from the national league, because they can't compete in this league.

Hopefully Theo and co. can make some big moves this offseason, instead of letting the yankees pick up every big free agent available....again!

Weigh in...I'd love to hear your opinions on what the sox should/shouldn't do....
